Mark’s Beaver County Times Online article sparked a mention on www.hockeytraderumors.com. I couldn’t find anything else on the rumor, it’s like just as the URL indicates… a hockey trade rumor.

And today’s election day… get out and vote. Unless you’re just going to randomly choose a person to vote for. Then you could be doing more damage. Like this guy….

Well, that’s the message I found here at.. http://nicepickcowher.com This cat makes some valid points and anyone living in this city long enough realizes that if you can’t see the metaphor for life through the eyes of a Steelers fan, you haven’t been paying attention. So he relates racism as it pertains to the Steelers. I’m still not quite sure from this article if he’ll be voting Obama or not though but he seems to make some good statements.

NicePickCowher.com didn’t seem to mention the better side of Pittsburgh’s racism as it pertains to sports, the Rooney Rule. Meh, whatever. Ignorance and racism go hand in hand. Maybe if the die hard, Kordell hatin’, ter’ble tahl wavin’ gave the sport of hockey a chance, they’d learn a little more class.

And I know this has nothing to do with Mr. Friday Afternoon… but I’m bored. He did evoke Mark’s name and it came up on my Google alert. Whateve.

Steelers receiver Santonio Holmes

Another arrest for Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Santonio Holmes yesterday for misdemeanor drug possession. According to the International Herald Tribune Holmes was arrested around 4 pm yesterday near Mellon Arena during a traffic stop. A vehicle matching the description of the one Holmes was driving was reported to be carrying large amounts of drugs, reports IHT.

And now for my sidebar comments… Why are football players tested for marijuana? Is it considered performatnce enhancing or just that it’s an illegal substance. I’m not sure I understand how it would effect playing football. Meh, either way, Plax was coming to town and prolly needed to hook up while he was here. or not.
